The press release is being voiced across the Internet:
EMI Music launches DRM-free superior sound quality downloads across its entire digital repertoire.
EMI Music, one of the largest record companies in the world, is now a pioneer for the rest to follow. The entire catalog of music from EMI on iTunes will have it’s copy protection removed, meaning we can finally have some freedom with the songs we rightfully purchase. Not only that, but they will be superior quality, encoded at 256 kbps. They will cost $.30 more, priced at $1.29, but I suspect that most users will find it worth the price to have control over their music.
