The new Xbox 360 Elite is scheduled for release on April 29, 2007. This new box features some things that the hardcore gaming world has been awaiting since the release of the original Xbox 360:
- HDMI port for high-definition TVs
- HDMI cable included in the box (thank goodness…there’s nothing more annoying than having to go out and buy cables)
- A built-in 120 GB hard drive
For this version, Microsoft has switched from the white exterior and controller style to a sleek black look, returning back to the days of the original Xbox. Unfortunately, there’s no HD-DVD drive built in.
Also, Microsoft will be selling a 120 GB upgrade drive for use with the original Xbox 360 for $180. They are purporting that it will be an easy upgrade to accomplish. A means of transferring data from one Xbox unit to a new Elite is also in the works.
