I don’t think it can get much creepier than this. Honestly, as if our society isn’t dependent enough on prescription drugs, this certainly won’t relieve our addictions.  Unless, of course, you consider that this is too stupid to catch on.

“Never forget to take your medicine again”. I guess that’s something that might spark your interest if you have several prescription drugs and not much of a memory. But it seems that this company may have gone too far.

5 simple steps to better health:

  1. Get one of your back molars painfully and unnecessarily removed
  2. Replace it with a remote-controlled robotic tooth
  3. Get it filled every so often by taking extra trips to see your doctor
  4. Program your dosage amount and schedule
  5. Enjoy as tasty medication oozes into your mouth when you are not necessarily expecting it

Sounds great, huh? Even if this sounded good to you, it only defers the problem to something else you have to remember: filling your teeth with medicine about as often as you would have taken your prescription. Honestly, how many milligrams of medication could one tooth hold? One pill’s worth?

Hmmm - so in order for people with lots of medications to be able to use this (like older people who are probably the ones who need the most help remembering to take them) they would probably need half of their teeth replaced with this contraption. Wow - what a great idea. Forget dentures, just fill your mouth with automated pill bottles. I have to say that I think I’ll just take medication the old fashion way for now and take my chances with forgetting.
